RADIESSE+ is the lidocaine-enhanced version of RADIESSE, a regenerative dermal filler produced by the German company Merz Aesthetics. Its core formulation consists of 30% Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a 70% Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) gel carrier. As a CaHA-based biostimulator, RADIESSE+ includes added lidocaine to reduce pain and improve patient comfort during injection, while maintaining the same filling efficacy, collagen-stimulating capacity, and longevity as the original RADIESSE.
Its mechanism of action works in two phases: immediately after injection, the CMC gel provides instant structural support and volume restoration. Subsequently, the CaHA microspheres form a scaffold beneath the skin, activating fibroblasts to stimulate the neogenesis of collagen and elastin. This creates a transition from “immediate filling” to “long-term regeneration.” Clinical data indicates that its effects typically last 12–18 months, and in some cases, even longer.
RADIESSE+ is indicated for deep soft tissue augmentation and contouring in areas such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheeks, jawline, and the dorsum of the hands. When diluted, it can also be used for skin quality improvement, such as treating fine lines on the chest. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, CaHA material is non-hydrophilic and resistant to migration, offering superior structural support. It is frequently chosen for areas requiring bone-like support or defined contouring.
First approved by the US FDA in 2006, RADIESSE+ also holds CE Mark certification and approvals in numerous other countries. In 2025, it was approved for launch in China under the brand name “芮得怡.” As a Class III injectable medical device, RADIESSE+ must only be administered by qualified medical professionals in licensed clinical settings. It is not intended for injection into the periorbital area, lips, or superficial dermis.
